I just get one video per day after the last update

Guys, before the last update, the one that changed the helicopter for a flying saucer, I used to got three to four videos per hour. Now I just receive one video per day. Is this a punishment for people who bought the update?
I used to get township coins and bills after watching the videos. Are you making efforts to people stop playing your game or it is just another bug to turn our game experience in a nightmare?

I’m not sure what you mean by “bought the update” ... the updates are free, is that a typo or are you referring to something else.

Unfortunately the videos are very random, and will come and go.
Prior to the update, I got maybe 3 or 4 a day, now I am getting 2 or 3 an hour.
I’m sure some have lost them fir the time being, But they always return.

I also have this problem but after buying the Golden pass at the Professor Verne event. From that time I get a video at most 1 or 2 times a day and usually get coins and very little tcash. Previously that was 4 to 5 videos several times a day. If I sometimes bought a special offer, the video man sometimes stopped and came back after a few days with his normal routine of videos. It seems like we were punished with buying the golden pass with its benefits in the event.

Exactly what happened to me! I bought the golden pass in that event (I have forgot the name of the event and I called it an update). In my case I still stucked in the one video per day since the golden pass.

This is my take on the video ads - not based on facts, just on information and player experiences I have seen posted in various fora over the years (please feel free to argue with me or put me right ) -

    1) Playrix don't control the advertising, they outsource it to a specialist company which shows ads in many different games.

    2) When you first start playing you are assigned to an advertising group - some players get no ads at all, some get a couple per day, and some get regular ads - possibly 3 per hour to start with, increasing to 5. This is "semi-random" in that players in different countries get different ads (I've seen posts from people in North America who get very different ads to me in Europe, so the advertising company definitely has some information about us such as where we are in the world, and I once spent a week as a guest in a co-op from Bosnia Herzegovina where none of the 20+ players received ads - maybe the advertising company isn't licensed to work there or maybe that country isn't on its target list)

    3) Playrix is a business. It's aim is to make money. It earns a small amount of money every time someone watches a video. It earns much more money when someone buys T-cash (or a golden pass). Therefore the strategy is that when someone spends real money on the game once, it's possible that they will do so again, so to "encourage" them to spend they take away the opportunity to "earn" T-cash. That's a win-win situation for Playrix - they're getting money from players who spend real money, but also from players who don't.

If a person buys T-cash once but then not again, the number of videos increases, and therefore so does Playrix's revenue. Of course, there are a few players who always reply to these posts saying that they've bought T-cash and they still get regular videos. I see them (cynically maybe) as a "decoy group" created to " prove" that the videos are random, when really they're not. The same goes for the unlucky people who never get the ads.

You could be one of the lucky ones whose video ads don't disappear, but if you rely on them for T-cash, maybe it's better not to spend real money on the game

I agree with everything you have written JJay. This is my take on how the adverts work also

Thanks for that summary, JJ Your interpretation sounds rather convincing to me (f.e. I remember the post by Liza M? you once found again for me, where she stated that grouping procedure), with the exception of the above quote. I am one of those contradicting the loss of ads by buying tcash, but just when it is stated as hard rule. I kept the ads - but then I never ever got them as what you call regular, i.e. several an hour. I get several per day, and it stayed that way despite buying tcash, and hopefully will! *G*

But - and here it is, a sort of confirmation that it does have an impact then, too: IMO the sales I get offered together with deco have increased in price to ridiculous amounts, 20 Euro and more. When I hear from others, they see 4 Euro or 5 £ or something below 10$. For the same sale...

So I have decided to buy only sales that have more than 50 % reduction or "profit" (?), not just 20 or 30%, and had to let go a few very nice decos already for this.
And I don't like that one bit, just as the players who lose their ads.

I partially agree with you, JJay. It is indeed the case that the videos even differ per country. I come from the Netherlands and receive mostly Dutch advertising, but when I am in Germany, England or other European countries I get that in related advertising in that language and which are interesting for that country.

Know that I am one of the lucky ones to get the video man and getting the tcash is a bonus. Especially if you are still busy in the lower levels and therefore e.g. Raja can buy. I only buy offers with nice decorations and my experience is that he always comes back after a few days with his normal range of videos and advertisements. So that experience of a time no videos or less I have never had until now. Of course I understand that Plarix wants to earn money and lately has been trying to push in multiple ways. Sometimes I go along with it because I also enjoy the game, but I am not a big spender who spends a lot of money buying tcash.

I have been doing it for 4 years and I do not have that experience about what you say about the strategy of buying and maybe quickly buying again by reducing the videos for a long time until now. There must be a combination of Plarix and the advertising company to change the video man if purchases are made with real money. It is now strange that after buying the Golden pass during the event the whole strategy has suddenly changed and there are only 1 or at most 2 videos per day. It will not stop me from just going ahead and buying something I want but I can imagine that some players will start thinking more and they will buy Tcash with real money if they lose it. So what is the profit of Plarix / advertisement company to change that strategy enormously. People will think more at a next major event such as Professor Verne where a pass can be purchased to do so.

I have noticed with tcash offers in the Uk will have the same figures as the Euro and the dollar.
FE. An offer will cost €30, $30 and £30 fir the same amount if tcash. If there is a deco added the amount of tcash will be reduced.
This doesn’t seem at all fair as none of them have the same value.

As I said, that there were such "similar looking" prices is long time ago for me. But in any case: yes, I don't see fairness in any of the variants we have discovered here.
No wonder Playrix doesn't discuss it with us.
