Delayed Regatta Start by 6 Hours Benefits the Team

I have been told by several experienced players that delaying the start of the Regatta by 5 or 6 hours has benefits for our team. I would assume that this is because more teams are starting right away. We have started right away and using the delay but I don’t see a major difference in the results. We have finished in the top 3 and other times been in the bottom 3. Any thoughts on this. Thanks.

I think it used to make a difference having a delayed start at one time, but it doesnt seem to work anymore.
