Understanding co-ops, regattas, dumping, and one other thing...

I'm new to the game and I joined a Co-op because it's a recommended part of the game. However, I'm now in my second regatta, and my co-op isn't really participating. It's like me and a couple of others. It's kind of a dead co-op, so I started looking at others and I found some language I don't understand.

"Must complete all tasks and dump anything under 130."

I understand the words, obviously, but not the context. Does the "all tasks" mean every one I start, or all presented to me? Surely, it can't be the latter. I understand the 130 value, but I don't understand how one would dump a task. I have seen people talk about dumping in other contexts, so I'm curious. The only dumping I know is trashing helicopter orders.

The other thing is I see people requesting help for mining tools. I don't understand how this is done. I only know asking for help with trains and planes.

Thanks in advance! Great forum, very helpful.

Hi Happydog. Co-ops can be very confusing when you first start out, but, for me at least, they're one of the best parts of this game. First to answer your questions - "must complete all tasks" means you should do the maximum amount of tasks available to you in your league. This ranges from wooden league players who can do 7 tasks, plus one extra if they pay 10 T-cash to buy it, to gold league who can do 15 tasks plus one extra. "Dump anything under 130" means all tasks under 130 points are discarded. Teammates who are elders, co-leaders or leader will see a small trash can in the task window (the same as in the heli orders), which allows them to dump the task. Another task will take its place after 30 minutes (hopefully one with a higher point value)

You can request mine tools, or any other goods, in co-op chat. So if you are doing a mining task and need more picks, you can ask for them, and if your teammates have some to spare they can give them to you (You can also buy mine tools from the dealer in the market in case you didn't know)

If the co-op you have joined isn't very active don't be afraid to leave and try out several others till you find one that suits you. It's best to leave after the regatta ends - if you leave before doing all your tasks you put your co-op at a disadvantage because they lose any potential points you might have scored, and you lose any rewards you might have earned. Co-ops advertise themselves here on the forum, and many more in various Facebook groups, and on the official Township Facebook page. You can also advertise yourself as looking for a coop, and there are some teams which specialise in training new players. Finding the right team to join takes time but it makes the game so much more rewarding.

    Thanks so much!

Some of the tasks in the regatta seem impossible for me at my level. Even if I devoted all my fields to the one crop they're asking for, I couldn't grow enough to meet the goal. I'm pretty sure I did the math right on that. Am I missing something? And I can only do one task at a time, right?

I guess I need an advanced primer on regattas.

Ok, I think I've got it.

The "Tasks left" is telling me I need to do 13 tasks out of those offered, not everything offered. Nine down, four to go. And I see a trash can where I could delete the task. So you have to choose the task first, then delete it.

    Thanks again!
