I've been working through the Oriental garden area. Ever since the last (Christmas) update, Master Akira hasn't moved. Usually he wanders around, sits, sleeps, meditates, drinks tea, etc. Now, he just stands in one place and stares.

You could try restarting your device. If that doesn't do the trick, reinstall the game (but make sure you're connected to Facebook before you do to keep your game progress).
