How Do You Change To 'Not Racing'?

We have a lot of members in our coop and they are all designated as racing when we know they are not. How do they designate that they are not racing? Thanks for your help

In the Settings icon (3rd icon below population counter), there is a button for 'Additional Settings'.

the 1st option is a tick box that says 'Participate in regatta'. The player needs to uncheck the box to change the status to 'Not racing'.

However this change has to happen before start of the race in between 2 races. Else the players would be considered as participants or in other words 'racing'

Just to clarify: A change will become active/valid in the next race; it doesn't change the current one. So it doesn't have to be changed exactly between two races.
Can be today for next week's race.
