Thread: Impossible Dump Rates

  1. #21
Currently you only get the message when trying to log into the game on a second device while already logged in. There's nothing about having to wait a few minutes to allow the server to update as some other games have, and as mentioned as a possible solution by Bess earlier in this thread. But as this was reported last year, I would've thought the devs would have implemented some solution by now.

And yet, certain recent GLB scores show us they haven’t, at least not successfully. So, maybe we have 3 things here that are worth Playrix considering again, perhaps while they have their ‘specialist’ in. 1) stats that detect and ban the worst offenders 2) a forced time delay when switching between devices to potentially prevent it at all and 3) getting rid of the dump penalty entirely and replacing it with a different metric to rank teams globally.

Interesting that other games already make people wait on the servers before switching devices.. that seems like a pretty easy way to bypass the issue from Playrix’s point of view.

What do you think is a realistically low dump rate, what are your personal experiences?

I once glitch dumped my own task by accident, even tho I own only one device to play township on. I took a crate filling task and went to a friends town immediately after to help. This caused my game to crash. When I came back on, the task had disappeared without a trace. It was gone from my log, and there was a different task on the board.
So I kind of doubt that dealing with the sync issue between two devices would be the ultimate fix. Some clever person would probably find a different way to disrupt the communication of dumped tasks to the server.
To me as a lay person, counting tasks given, as Dean suggested, sounds like a good solution. I don't see how that could be manipulated, since the tasks are generated on the server, no communication to the client needed.

I'm in a top GLB co-op and have to say I'm very much enjoying the challenge to keep dumps low. It might be an arbitrary measure, but it adds an interesting twist to playing the regatta. I'd be sad to see it go.

Sorry, I have no words of wisdom to add to this discussion. i would like to say though that we have raced against a couple of top Russian co-ops who literally trounced us, including the #6 team on the leaderboard this week, and I can confidently say without a shadow of doubt in my mind that they were not cheating, but truly and soundly beat us fair and square. My hat goes off to them.

    Synced between 2 devices

But let’s say that gets done.. now anybody with an outlandishly improbable dump ratio gets flagged. What happens next? Do you ban them automatically over a certain threshold of implausibility? I’d say yes - that gets rid of the very worst offenders. But then the cheats work out where the detection boundary lies, which they inevitably will, and the fair-play teams still get beaten, just by a smaller margin. And if you tighten the detection threshold up too far, anyone getting legitimately lucky that week gets banned by mistake, with no way to prove they didn’t deserve it.

And that’s the problem with this cheat. (Without me saying too much and potentially creating more cheaters), Playrix has no possible way to see what the cheaters did, either at the time they do it or in retrospect. I can’t see how they can ever check the borderline cases, manually or otherwise. Which potentially both lets the cautious cheat escape detection and mistakenly bans the innocent.

Bearing in mind I’ve never synced between 2 devices, either to cheat or not, I still wonder if the actual solution may lie in the sync between devices. Banning the use of more than one device would solve the problem but would be hugely unpopular, so let’s assume that’s off the table. It’s tricky discussing this without letting the cat out of the bag and potentially creating more cheats, but I wonder if forcing those switching between devices to have a wait before logging in again might help.. any thoughts?

I do not nor have I ever cheated. However I was recently banned for cheating. I was reinstated with an apology, but still it caused my co op to lose the regatta that we had been winning and everyone was out the t cash they had spent. Why is that relevant? I started playing this game on a kindle. When it gave up the ghost, I got an I pad. So I have had two devices. How will you allow someone to keep playing when one device needs to be replaced?

This discussion is not about replacing a device. It is about syncing the game over 2 devices. Many players play the same town on 2 devices at the same time. Phone when tthey are on the road and tablet when at home.

Would like to ask if there is any more building after level 85 ? Houses or factories? I haven’t built anything for quite a while

Marie, you don't need to keep spamming the forum with the same question on irrelevant threads. Most (regular) posters check in on all the various sub forums, your post will be seen in just one place.

No, there are no more town buildings (I believe, looking at my building list and checking Wiki). There are plenty of zoo buildings.
There are pretty regular game updates that bring new things.

    In short: Not yet.

Congratulations to the Chinese Blue Cow team in second on raising your score from 2288.63 to 4590.03. Your score last race of 2301.4 is a new all time high! 480 135s and only 258 dumps. I wonder how you do it!
