What happens if I don't send a plane?

Ok, maybe this is a silly question, but in the 102 days I've been playing, I have never failed to send a full plane. I keep thinking I should just ignore one or perhaps push send on a semi-full plane to see what happens, but I would like to have an idea of what to expect.

Do I just lose the gem bonus on a semi full plane? Does a completely ignored plane clear itself away after 15 hours and get replaced by a new plane, or does that same plane sit there forever?

Also, apparently some people rarely bother with planes, so what are your thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of plane filling?

Hi there There are a few questions there so I will try and answer them as well as I can. If you do not send the plane by the allotted time, the plane will be sent automatically and you will receive the amounts due for the crates you have filled at that time. As far as I am aware, the gem reward is only given in return for sending a full plane. AfterAfter the plane has departed, you will then revert back to the usual procedure. You will see the items needed for the next plane's arrival in just under five hours. I love the plane as it is a good way to clear my barn and also get clovers for my friends who help

Yup, I expect I will keep diligently filling them up. Though some days I purposely take my time doing it. Never enough gems.
