3Why is Austin holding a Rubix cube on some levels?

Those are the "hard levels". I don't know - they are supposed to be puzzling?

I think those are denoted by a purple background too aren't they?

    Yes, they are purple.
In Gardenscapes, the "hard levels" are red, and the "super hard levels" are purple. When i first came across purple ones in Homescapes, i thought here we go again, never heard of "super hard" ones in homescapes before. But they were "regular hard".

I figure they're working from the assumption that completing a Rubik's Cube is hard, so it matches the hard level.

IMHO solving the Rubik's Cube was easier than some of these levels, not just the hard ones!

Exacto. El cubo d 3x3 es morado y es nivel difícil. El d q no es un cubo sino un octágono es nivel super difícil y es rojo vino.
