Tasks getting more expensive (Number of Stars)?!

I'm fairly new to this game by some of you lots' standards (level 215) but it's really getting on my nerves that as you progress through the days all of the tasks seem to get way more expensive. For example I've just put in benches requiring 2 x 3stars which compared to the start of the game seems a ridiculous amount for such a simple task, or is this just me?

Would like to hear other people's' thoughts on this...

It sort of levels off after awhile. You won't see any 1 star task past the point you're at, that's for sure. Many thing will take 3 or 4 stars and some will take 3 or 4 stars times 3 or 4 times. By the time you finish the castle topiary area it pretty much stays the same from that point forward.

    Think of it this way...

(I don't actually know why Playrix does what it does here, this is just my speculation!)

Each week, they release 25 new levels, and therefore they must make 25 stars worth of content. Presumably it takes longer than a week to design and program the story and graphics for each garden area. So, each garden area needs to have ~75-100? (I think that's right) stars worth of stuff to do.

This can either mean lots of filler tasks (the much-hated doing Austin's laundry), doing absurdly tiny amounts of work in the garden, breaking up larger tasks e.g. 3x2 stars, or just making the tasks take way more stars each (not popular). I think in the beginning of the game they were still trying to figure out the best way to balance all these. I think by the hedge-maze part, they get much better at it. Just my 2 cents

I agree with your reasoning Honor, but one area takes min 300 stars. One day is about 60 stars, and form the 3rd area or so, there are 5 days to complete one area. So yeah, as frustrating as it can get to spend hard earned stars on pointless tasks, in a way it makes sense. Otherwise, we'd renovate the entire garden in the first 100 levels.
