Bleak, Cobalt, very bleak, hahaha! I detest the high rises myself, especially the most modern ones. The little houses are my favourites, though they too house Socialists in my mind, but in a more agrarian way. Perhaps we can supply crops to your sprawling metropolis as you all choke on smog, lol.

I refer to the housing area of my township as "ghetto". Comparing my township's housing to yours I think my wording is spot on adequate, and your wording is underestimating the quality of life offered to your citizens
Blue trashcan: dumping has no effect on current race, only deducts points from Global score (Global Leaderboard etc.)
Red trashcan: DON'T USE unless you really wish to lose those points in your race!

Thank you Vuurvl. Everything you say is spot on and gets to the heart of the matter.

There are so many styles you can go with in doing your town. Each town is as unique as the designer
of it. Even though all have access to the same palette of town elements, all use them in a different way.

You have piqued my curiosity and I would visit your town if I knew how. Maybe place your Coop data
    in your signature?

    Kind Regards,
    Cobalt

In a similar vein, I prefer to think of the "organic sprawl" of housing in growing cities. I modelled mine after the Favelas of Rio, climbing the hillside away from the city center. I stuffed mine in the upper right of the map, nestled against the hillsides.

Right, it's about time I did that, since I'm happy in my coop and on long term stay there. Done!

My township is a very much a WIP, I'm just lvl 60. As part of my levelling I'm being very skimpy on decorations. So I've done most things using just terrain and road deco. But I like where my agricultural region is going. Future plans include a more fleshed out waterfront, a historical downtown section, a market square and shopping section, a highrise building section, a themepark section, a leisure section, and more space for green/sport decorations among my houses. As you can tell, many of these plans are yet to be realized, but I've got the skeleton framework in place.

My Zoo is far more fleshed out, even if it's still only lvl 18 so also still growing. Main road framework with consistent decorations. Zoned enclosures with corresponding land and road textures and decorations: arid, tropical, polar, moderate. Plenty of waterways and bridges. Increased protection for the enclosure with the zoo's most dangerous animal - the hippo. Small children's playground.

Hmmm.. but I'm veering off topic here. Houses. Better not sell them, unless you're content with a township that's "stuck" for further development.

    Selling Houses

I’ve noticed that some players who are very far in the game have a smaller population than I do, I have the max. Even Ernie has only a little over 8,000. Does it make sense to sell some houses to make room? I’m at level 91, done with all the buildings. Thanks for any feedback!

Hi, you can sell as many houses as you want, but you should keep in mind that you need a certain amount of population in order to build factories, community buildings and to expand your town.
High level players (who already purchased all factories/CB/expansions) sell their houses and when new expansions are introduced with updates, re-buy the houses to reach the necessary amount of population to expand again.
It's up to you how you want to proceed, depending on how you're developing your town and what you have so far.

Dreadnought, thank you! I do have all the factories and community buildings but I didn’t think about expansions! Appreciate your input!

I think mine look fairly ok, given that I’m still at the ‘short of space’ stage too. Feel free to go have a look if you need some house-inspiration.. Though if you think they look awful, don’t say so, I’m sensitive
How can I go look at your town to see your houses set-up?

That was nice of you Bessville...
