Block friend requests?

Is there a way to not be found in this game?
I never used to receive any friend requests, now I receive multiple requests a day, and I would rather not.

Nasochkas, I believe the short answer is no.

Like you, I didn't want to have in-game friends when I first started, but my mind was quickly changed. I think you'll find that having friends to help fill your trains and planes is quite valuable. There's no direct communication through the game, so all these "friends" are just names & avatars.
